Lesson 1:

Children will develop an understanding of what Type 1 Diabetes is and how to spot the signs of it. They will start to understand facts and myths around the condition.

Lesson 2:

Children will develop an understanding of what it might feel like to live with Type 1 Diabetes so that they can develop compassion and encourage acceptance of others with the health condition as well as similar ‘hidden’ conditions.

Lesson 3:

Children will consider how to make their classroom and their school community aware of and supportive of the needs of children with Type 1 Diabetes, and other hidden conditions.
